Using the SuperMemo Software:
Card Details

This chapter explains the Card Details screen. This screen shows several values about the selected card and allows you to reset or delete the card as well. The Card Details screen can be invoked by tapping the icon on the left of the selected card in the Card List screen.

There are three sections in this chapter:

*   Details about the selected card

When you tap an icon of any card in the Card List view, you will see a screen with details about the selected card. The screen has eight lines of information:
  1. The first line shows you the current and previous (in parenthesis) Interval between card occurrences in tests. The value is shown in days. The current interval value is equal to a date difference of lines 5 and 6.

  2. The second line displays the current and previous (in parenthesis) Difficulty of the card. The difficulty value is always between 0 and 100 percent. The higher number the more difficult the card is for you. When you commit a brand new card, it will be assigned an initial difficulty of 40 %.

  3. The next line shows the number of item Recalls in tests, as opposed to the number of lapses shown on the next line.

  4. On this line you can see the number of item Lapses in tests. Recalls and lapses together are equal to the total number of repetitions, i.e. the number of occurrences in tests so far.

  5. The date of the Next Test of the card is shown on the fifth line. The number in round brackets shows how many days remain to that day. In our example, the card will be tested again in 25 days.

  6. The next line shows the date of the Last Test of the card. The number in round brackets shows how many days ago it was. In our example, the card was last tested 8 days ago. The difference between the next and the last test date is shown on line 1.

  7. This line shows the date on which the card was Committed to the learning process. Again, the value in round brackets shows you the day difference between the commitment date and this day. In our example, the card was committed 165 days ago.

  8. The last line shows you the date on which the card was Created. If you are the one who creates the card, you will probably create and commit it on the same day as shown in our example screen.

*   Resetting a card

If you want to reset the selected card, you can tap the Reset button in the Card Details screen. Of course, the Reset button is only visible if the card is committed in the learning process.

Resetting the card will not delete it, it will only clear its stored learning data and remove it from the learning process. If you want, you can commit it back to the learning process later.

When you tap the Reset button and confirm your intention, the screen data is updated and the button disappears. The card will also change its icon in the Card List view.
